The doctor, who is part of the WHO expert committee, cited Pernambuco as an example in combating the pandemic.
The Fiocruz doctor and researcher Margareth Dalcolmo launches, this Thursday (17), at Livraria Jaqueira, at Cais da Alfândega, in Recife, her book “A time to not forget - The vision of science in facing the pandemic of the coronavirus and the future of health”.
During the event, the doctor, who recently rejoined the World Health Organization (WHO) expert committee, spoke about the work. "It's a chronology of what we lived through these two years, joining some literary references, and a record that I hope will be useful to new generations, to those non-technical people who can understand what happened, especially in Brazil, throughout these two years", he commented.
Dalcolmo also spoke about the importance of vaccination, including childhood. "Our expectation is that we will be able to ratify the confidence of Brazilian society in the vaccination process".
And she cited the example of Pernambuco in the fight against the pandemic. "It has given extraordinary examples, both by the State Government and by the Prefecture of Recife and other municipalities, of adherence to the health recommendations that we have made for the pandemic".

Margareth also said that she was surprised by the low adherence to the vaccination of children against Covid-19 in the state. And she made a request: "I urge the Pernambuco family to trust us. When we say that vaccines are effective and safe, it is because we are based on the studies of the best qualities that have been done".
science celebration
The autograph afternoon was attended by several personalities from the academic and scientific universe. "It is a privilege for us to have Dr. Margareth here in Recife.
She is a reference in Brazil and in the world in her area and played a fundamental role in the pandemic. I think we have to thank her for coming to Pernambuco and revere her, because she is really a very special person.
I found the title of the book 'A time to not forget' very interesting, because we have there a summary of how it was such a hard and difficult period for everyone", said the researcher, immortal of the Pernambuco
Academy of Letters and columnist for Folha de Pernambuco, Lecticia Cavalcanti.
